Animation Proccess

I began animating today 

The first issue i ran into was being able to get the character behind the table and have there arm in front of it at the same time.

My Solution to this issue came from something i saw in Rodger rabbit 

certain items in the film like a rubbish bin that Rodger digs in where still frames that the animators cut the bin out and pasted a copy over to create a 3 dimensional layer for Rodger to act in. 

I Used this idea and took the still image of the bar and cut out the table then place it between the layers of my characters hands and their bodies so the body is behind and the hand is in front giving the illusion of the hands resting on the table.
